By default, you can easily record one sound and have it play as the page sound in IPS3. Have you ever wanted to play two sounds, or even an entire sequence of sounds on a page? Here's how!

You will need to create a custom toolbar in which to store sounds. Under the Edit menu, choose Edit Custom Toolbars. Click Create Toolbar, and name it Extra Sounds. Name the default new button with the name of your first sound. Under Button Actions, remove Insert Picture or Name. Add the action Play Sound and place a check in the box for "Wait for sound to finish playingŠ" Click Okay to finish the first button.

Use the copy and paste icons at the top of the blue Selected Button dialog to make copies of this button to hold your additional sounds. Choose each copy in turn, open its Properties, and make the following changes: Rename the button. Under Button Sound, import or record the sound for each button, or use synthetic speech. Under the Button Sound tab, change the highlighting to indicate the correct sound for each button.

Make a note of the exact names of the buttons in the toolbar. (When you select them from Page Actions, you must type the exact names.) Hide your Extra Sounds toolbar. Click Done to close Edit Custom Toolbars.

Go to Page Properties either from the Pages menu or by Control-clicking a part of the page with no graphics, text, or buttons. Under Page Actions, put whatever other actions you need, including Play IntelliMation and Page Sound. Be sure to highlight a sound name under Page Sound if you want a sound to play when the page opens. To play some or all of the sounds from the hidden Extra Sounds toolbar, add the action "Select button" for each desired sound. Type in the exact name of that sound button. Click Okay.

The set of actions will play, including sounds from the toolbar, when the page opens, and they will play in the exact order they appear in the list.
