Changing the Border Color (IntelliPics Studio 3®, IntelliMathics 3®) or IT3 Window Color

When you choose New and open a blank template for IntelliPics Studio 3® or IntelliMathics 3®, you will see a border around the page area. By default, the IPS3 border is a light peach color, and the IM3 border is a pale pink. You can change either of these to a solid window color, to a pattern, or to a custom color. The same choices are available for the background of the IntelliTalk 3® window, and the procedure is the same, so that will also be covered in this tip.

Choose New and select a blank document from any of the three applications. When the blank document opens, go up to Options, and choose the first item, the document settings (probably "Untitled" settings, at this point.)

Click the Appearance tab. Notice the two main choices, Solid Window Color and Window Pattern. To use either one, click the small circle beside that category.

Click the "Pick Color" button beside Solid Window Color to get to its pull-down menu. The pull-down menu for the Window Patterns is just to the right of its current color window. You can try as many choices as you like, checking out the result in the Preview window. When you have made a choice, click Okay, and you will see the border (or IT3 window) change to your choice.

Custom Colors

Notice that when you first click Pick Color for Solid Window Color, the default choice is Custom. This is a special color choice that you can change to whatever specific color you want. While Custom shows in the Pick Color window, click Other to access the color adjustment controls.

The default colors for the borders of the IPS3 and IM3 documents and IT3 window are custom colors. You can save these, and any custom color that you create, by clicking and dragging from the long box at the top to one of the squares at the bottom of the Pick Color window. To use a saved color, just click one of the saved squares.
