This CD contains eighteen books detailing the discoveries of a thirteen year old dog along a Pacific Ocean beach during a six week stay, as well as on a road trip across the United States and onward to the island of St. Kitts in the West Indies. Readers learn about science, national parks, national memorials/monuments and much more, as they take on the role of Dakota’s exploration and travel partner. The books are rich with close up photos and video.

This CD includes 18 books that run in My Own Bookshelf®. Books are written in a narrative style and cover a wide range of subjects, including many real life experiences. From the top of Mount Kilimanjoro to the museum of the terracotta warriors in China, The Magic Bookshelves is a feast of good self-selected reading material.

The 18 books install into My Own Bookshelf® as two bookshelves, or individual books can be read with the included bookreaders. The full version of My Own Bookshelf® is required to modify or edit the books. Because of the numerous spectacular movies in this collection, the total file size is so large that The Magic Bookshelves would not fit on a cross platform CD. Books are written at a late first through mid third grade level. All include high quality photographs, and many books also include videos illustrating specific behaviors of the animal.
