The Life in the Northlands test is an example test from the What Do You Know About "The Nature Series" and "The Animal Kingdom" CD. The CD includes 36 tests that are in direct correlation with the 18 self-selected reading books on each of the two aforementioned CDs. This particular test goes with the Life in the Northlands book, a standard (purple star) level book from The Nature Series CD, which is also available for download from the SoftTouch Goodies page. Students should read Life in the Northlands and then take this test. |

The test includes five pages of multiple choice questions that relate to the reading material in the Life In the Northlands book developed by Learning Magic, Inc. in SoftTouch's My Own Bookshelf®. The five pages query the child on the different adaptations and defenses the animals have against the arctic cold, the eating habits of the animals, and identification of some of the animals. High quality photos similar to those in the Life in the Northlands book illustrate each question. |

The questions relate directly back to the reading material in The Life in the Northlands book and provide a solid basis for assessing the child's comprehension of the reading material.
