"Life in the Northlands" is a book written in SoftTouch's My Own Bookshelf® that explores the wonderous country of the polar region. In the book children will not only read about the harsh cold conditions of the environment, but also meet some of the animals that live in that region. The animals include the polar bear, the northern fur seal, the walrus, and the musk ox. Each animal will in turn explain how they survive in the Northlands. |

The books are available in an electronic format for computer use, but also can be printed and used as additional self selected reading resources in your classrooms. This book is one of the eighteen books available on "The Nature Series" CD offered by Learning Magic, Inc. The two bookshelves on this CD can be distinguished as to reading level by the yellow (easier) or purple (standard) stars on the covers.
