The Magic Hat

This is an original story about a magician's visit to a classroom. With all the magical energy flying around, perhaps it is not surprising that Ann was inspired to write this story, which is a metaphor for what Learning Magic is all about.

In the story, the magician puts his hat upside down on the table, and challenges the kids in the class to guess what is in it. Each child takes a guess, and they come up with a wide range of possibilities, from a dragon to birds to ice cream. When he turns over the hat, it is empty!

But then the magician shows them a real magic trick. He proves that the most powerful magic is the mind, as the students use their imaginations to fill not only the hat but the entire classroom with wonderous things.

This book is in an electronic format for computer use, but also can be printed and used as an additional self-selected reading resource in your classrooms.
