Blizzards

Blizzards is a book that looks at this form of harsh winter storm. The child will hear appropriate sound effects on several pages and see pictures of the effects of this type of windstorm.

Children will also be exposed to potentially new vocabulary including the terms "blizzard", "whiteout", "wind chill factor", and "frostbite". The book although only nine pages in length provides a compelling and graphic look at the effects of mother nature in the colder regions of the world.

Blizzards is available in an electronic format for computer use, but also can be printed and used as an additional self selected reading resource in your classrooms.
