Crawfish Festival Journal

This activity is based upon one of the new templates from the Learning Magic Writing Bin CD .

In this activity students have the opportunity to document their visit to the Crawfish Festival through their own journal. Students get to choose from pictures on a pop-up toolbar that includes twelve of the pictures they saw and read about in the Crawfish Festival Adventure activity, also available here for download.

When students click on a picture, it is automatically inserted onto the page, and they then get to write about what they remembered or learned. Pop-up toolbars of sight words, plus nouns, verbs and adjectives that were used in the Crawfish Festival Adventure activity are also available to assist students in their writing endeavors.

Since each student has the opportunity to explore the Crawfish Festival Adventure along different paths, we have found that the follow-on journals like this one often reflect the student's individual paths and experiences. The end result is a personalized journal that can be saved within a student's portfolio.

This activity was built in Classroom Suite v. 3.2. The activity can be run on the ITAN Player. But IntelliPics Studio 3® is needed to perform data capture, automatic grading and portfolio management, as well as any editing or changes to the activity itself.
