Bluebonnet Swamp Adventure

The BlueBonnet Swamp Adventure is an activity built upon one of the templates found on the Learning Magic, Inc. "Adventures in Reading" CD.

In this adventure children get to take a virtual walk along pathways into a swamp where they get exposure to both the plants and animals that live there. They read that the word "swamp" means a wetland area where trees grow out of the water. In contrast, a wetland where only grasses and reeds grow out of the water is called a "marsh".

Children will learn about the general environment in the swamp and encounter animals along the way including but not limited to dragonflies, alligators, raccoons and owls. In a total of 15 pages children get to take eight different paths through the swamp. Spectacular photographs make the swamp exploration a vivid and realistic experience.
