The Titanic

The activity opens as a book with a picture of the Titanic on the cover and then eight pages of text describing the Titanic and the disaster that occurred on April 14, 1912. After each page of text, the child is presented with a multiple choice question which tests for comprehension of the previous page's content. This template allows for up to ten of these reading and question sets. The Titanic was created in the Learning Magic "Text Only TOCR" template, one component of our newest CD, Comprehension.

With this particular template, a child can either read the text silently or click on the text box to have it read aloud to them. Please note that on the Comprehension CD, the identical content is also available in two alternate template formats. One alternate automatically reads the text and questions to the child. The other does not have read aloud capability, so that the child is required to read rather than listen.

The child has the option to go back and read the previous page if they are not sure of the answer to the question. As the questions are answered, we are tracking and capturing all of their responses and the activity will both grade and provide appropriate reporting using the IntelliPics Studio 3® reporting capabilities.
