Grocery Shopping

This is a two part activity. The first part, an introduction written in IntelliPics Studio 3®, relates the story of Sharon who has come home and found a note from her mother along with sixty dollars in cash. The note asks Sharon to go to the grocery store to purchase nine items. The initial activity provides photos of the store, grocery carts and the nine items.

The second part of the activity was developed in IntelliTalk 3® and provides nine purchase scenarios where Sharon has to get the correct change back in the fewest number of bills and coins as she purchases each item.

Your students will be asked to assist Sharon in being sure that she gets the correct bills and coinage back. The activity has self checking built in. Data capture and reporting are additionally available using the IntelliTalk 3® features. Required software: IntelliTools Classroom Suite Player®, or IntelliTalk3®.
