Peter Pan

While in London last January we had the opportunity to work with several teachers who wanted to see how we might be able to use the IntelliTools Classroom Suite® to provide supplemental materials for the teaching of the book Peter Pan.

The result was a combination of three simple activities. The first one was developed in IntelliPics Studio 3®, and includes a photograph of Peter Pan's statue in Kensington Gardens, London on the first page. A second page relates how the story came about, who wrote it, and its marvelous history as a children's favorite. The third page then provides two buttons to take you to two additional activities.

The second activity uses the Fairy Tales Template which was developed in IntelliTalk 3® to provide the basis for children to resequence the story after having read it or having it read to them. Additionally, word banks are provided in a second portion of this activity to allow children to write their reflections and ideas about the story in their own words.

The third activity is a short review written in IntelliTalk 3® with answer fields to test the children's comprehension and memories of both the story's history and the story itself.
