Butterflies

Activity Details: This activity was developed in IntelliPics Studio 3® utilizing primarily digital photos to show the characteristics of a butterfly. The activity defines butterflies as insects and outlines in a simple manner what characteristics a butterfly has that makes it an insect. The activity also traces the steps of metamorphosis and the butterfly's life cycle.

The activity provides photos of the metamorphosis stages along with approximately one dozen photos of differing varieties of butterflies. The activity discusses the butterfly's single-colored scales and the various coloring and patterning characteristics of different species.

There is also an IntelliTalk 3® self-correcting/checking review at the end of the activity to test the child's comprehension. Required Software: IntelliPics Studio 3® and IntelliTalk 3® or IntelliTools Classroom Suite Player®.
