Things in the Sky

This activity was created using one of the scaffolded writing templates from the Learning Magic, Inc The Writing Bin CD . This template and resulting activity has two toolbars that provide 16 words for writing support. Each word was used in the initial content lead in, which introduces the subject of things in the sky.

The activity includes 8 lead in pages using repetitive text to identify things in the sky (i.e. helicopters, clouds, balloons, kites, jets). On each page either sound effects or spoken text augments the photograph.

After reading or listening to the initial content, the student has the opportunity to then write about things in the sky. The student simply clicks on a picture to insert it on the page, and then writes in the provided text box.

Again the "Words" toolbar is available in the writing process. The student can also click on the "Read Page" button as the write, which helps them listen to what they have written and make changes/edits as they see fit.

This activity was built in Classroom Suite v. 3.2. The activity can be run on the ITAN Player. But IntelliPics Studio 3® is needed to perform data capture, automatic grading and portfolio management, as well as any editing or changes to the activity itself.
